YouTube skater Luis Mora, who is now calling the shots at Lakai, pulled off something special for his crew during a recent trip to Barcelona.

While the team was out skating, filming, and soaking in the city, Mora dropped a surprise that none of them saw coming.

He handed each skater a pair of custom Lakai shoes, each one designed with a colorway personalized just for them, complete with their names on the side.

There was no build-up, just boxes opened and real reactions from the team as they saw the shoes for the first time. It was the kind of moment that sticks. The kind of gesture that says, you matter here.

Mora posted about it afterward.

He said, "Surprised the guys with their own Lakai color way shoes on our recent Barcelona trip. So awesome to see them all hyped to see their shoes with their own names. Made the already great trip even better."

The Barcelona trip was already stacked with good sessions, warm nights, and city spots that make you want to skate until you can barely move.

But this move made it personal. It turned a solid trip into something a little more memorable. And for a team that spends so much time on the road and in the streets, those moments count.

While he was there, Mora also got his first in-person look at the Lakai and Aura Skateboards collab shoes.

He’d been working on the project behind the scenes, and finally seeing it finished hit differently. "Seeing all of it come together was an amazing feeling," he said. "So much love for the tour video after its release, thank you for all who support what we do. It’s been an amazing year."

Mora kept things short but left a little teaser. "Got some more good stuff coming, hyped to show what’s next."

Whatever that next thing is, it’s awesome that the Lakai team is in good hands. He might be a YouTuber, but he is someone who understands skateboarding, respects the skaters, and knows when to hand over a pair of shoes that says it all.
