Legendary professional skateboarder Stevie Williams, also known as Lord Williams, says that if you want to be a real top-notch guy, you have to have self-control.
After his AYC brand failed, Lord Williams was still determined and continued to venture into other businesses while giving free skateboard completes to the underprivileged youth.
The 44-year-old believes that discipline is key when it comes to achieving excellence in life - on and off the board. You need to be able to resist immediate temptations and focus on your long-term goals.
Sometimes it means giving up short-term pleasures to reach your full potential. Lord Williams says that if you're not interested in being great, then you should just let your impulses control you.
But if you want to be part of the top 1%, you need to do things that 99% of men are not willing to do. You must be determined and cut off anything that doesn't help you reach your full potential.
Lord Williams posted, "Self-control is the cornerstone to any Top 1% man.
If you don’t want to be great, then allow yourself to be controlled by impulses.
If you want to be a Top 1% man, do what 99% of men are unwilling to do.
Be relentless and cut off anything that doesn’t align with your full potential."
