With all the recent changes in the Dwindle Distribution and money owed, Kevin Romar had to part ways with Blind Skateboards but was still thankful, especially with Bill Weiss.
Romar had been a valuable member of the Blind Skateboards team for years, and during that time, he had made a significant impact in the skateboarding world. He was known for his impressive nollie backside 360 and his positive attitude on and off the skateboard.
Despite his success on the team, Romar needed to become a free agent. The news surprised many fans of the company, as Romar had been a staple member of the team for a significant amount of time.
The reasons for Romar's departure have not been disclosed, and it is unclear what the future holds for the skateboarder and the company. However, some industry insiders speculate that the split may have been due to the firing of Romar's mentor Weiss and the constant changes of Dwindle.
"The End of an amazing great and wild chapter." Romar took to Instagram to update his followers.
"A lot of people have been asking me if I’m still on Blind and sad to say that the answer is no." He said. "I haven’t announced anything because I didn’t know what to say, but now I do and I just want to say that I’m very grateful for what Blind Skateboards has done for me for over a decade of being with them."
"They truly elevated my career to a level I’ve never thought was possible." Romar mentioned. "When so many companies weren’t putting me on in the beginning of my amateur career, Blind & Bill Weiss stepped up to plate and made sure I was right. They turned me Pro when the time was right and I’m forever grateful for that."
He added. "I’m very grateful for the opportunity to have been with a company for so long, a true dream come true from all the traveling around the world with the team and all the other sick opportunities that came with it."
"With all the legal stuff going on at Dwindle/Highline/Bravo it’s very depressing to see where things have ended up and where things are headed over there." He said. "So I’ve just been skating boards that feel good to me. I appreciate all the fans and supporters who’ve stayed with me throughout my career, that truly means a lot. I’m super stoked to even still be skateboarding and that’s all that matters!"
"Thank you to anyone who has ever bought a Blind board with my name on it forreal!! Right now my focus is getting my foot back to 100%, World Premiere and keeping the music and skate going!! We shall see what the future holds," he explained.
