Juni Kang just made history at the 2026 Aichi Nagoya Asian Games.
The 18-year-old Korean skateboarder won gold in the men’s street final on September 27, giving South Korea its first Asian Games skateboarding gold medal.
Kang started strong in the 45 second run and led the field. Things got rough in the trick round after he fell twice and dropped to seventh.
With one attempt left, Kang went for his signature nollie 270 heelflip lipslide again. He landed it clean, jumped back into contention, and secured the gold.
Kang started skating at eight in Yangsan, South Korea. He has since become the first Korean to win a top amateur contest and later won at his first event featuring some of the world’s best pros.
Now he has his sights set on the 2028 LA Olympics, where he hopes to win Korea’s first Olympic skateboarding medal.
Not bad for an 18 year old.
