French fashion designer Christian Louboutin has tapped core skater and rapper Jaden Smith to take on a new role as the brand’s first ever men’s creative director.

The 27-year-old is popular for his music, acting, and love for street skating. He has often stepped into fashion with a style that stands out by wearing skirts and girly clothing, and now he will be shaping four collections a year for the French label.

The news dropped with Smith sounding laid back but confident about the move. He said linking up with Christian felt natural, like they were already on the same page. Both of them see freedom as the key when it comes to style and creating, so working together just makes sense.

“Merging my vision with Christian’s comes quite naturally because we see the world in a very similar way. There’s a shared respect for creative freedom, and I think that’s why it works. I want to continue the story, honoring the past while shaping the future through my own perspective. It isn’t just a title — it’s a creative home. Christian has given me a place to explore, to learn, and to create freely. His legacy is built on hard work and joy, and I want to carry that forward.”

The Christian Louboutin brand has long been associated with luxury footwear, and the appointment signals a stronger focus on its men’s collections.

By bringing Will Smith's son into the fold, the brand is aiming to connect with a younger audience that already knows him as an artist who blends skating, music, and fashion into his own world.

The first collection under the skater rapper’s direction will debut at Paris Fashion Week in January during the Men’s Fall Winter 2026 shows.

Until then, fashion skaters are keeping an eye on how he will mix the skate culture and creative vision will shape the future of Louboutin’s men’s line.

Christian Louboutin Posted:

"Maison Christian Louboutin is pleased to welcome Jaden Smith as the first Men’s Creative Director.

“When I first met Jaden, I saw in him a natural fit for the Maison, his world is rich and multidimensional, his style and cultural sensibility are inspiring and his curiosity and openness are remarkable. I felt that with his creative direction our men’s collection would evolve in an exciting and dynamic way. He feels like the perfect addition to our creative team and I am truly looking forward to having fun working with him on our men’s collections."
