As we previously reported, Independent Trucks has retired their famous cross logo, replacing it with a new design.

Many skaters were not happy about the change, especially since the old logo had a long history and was closely tied to the brand’s identity.

Some of the backlash came from concerns over the logo’s controversial associations, which made the decision to retire it even more complicated.

Recently, there has been a lot of excitement in the skateboarding community after skateboarding legend Peter Hewitt shared some posts hinting that the old logo might be returning.

His first post was a photo of a shirt featuring the classic cross logo. He did not explain anything but tagged Independent with the hashtag #builttogrind, which got fans talking.

The potential return of the logo has many skaters reminiscing about the brand’s history and what the old design meant to the community.

Whether it actually returns or if it will appear in limited releases, the posts have certainly gotten people talking and sharing memories of the old days on the board.

Independent fans are now keeping a close eye on the brand for any official announcements.
