There's a phrase that every skater has heard at least once: "I used to skate." Whether it's shouted by security guards, reminiscing dads, or random passersby on the streets, everyone has a tale of their skateboarding glory days.
But what if someone decided to put those claims to the test and make them prove it? That's precisely what happened when pro skateboarders Paul Rodriguez and Torey Pudwill, the host of "I Used to Skate," took to Hollywood, California, to challenge the notion that everyone "used to skate."
Armed with their skateboards and a camera crew, PRod and T-Puds confronted those who claimed they used to skate.
The mission? The infamous "do the trick" or answer skateboarding questions. This challenge involves asking skaters to perform any maneuver on a skateboard. They earn respect and get shirts and boards if they can nail it; if not, they walk away.
