Influencer The Hyphenate believed that Hypebeast didn't control the Berrics' content and claimed that pro skater Steve Berra was the only one who approved the calibration of content creation at every meeting.

As we previously reported, The Berrics founders Berra and Koston have been making noise on their social media accounts about being controlled by Kevin Ma's Hypebeast. They were forced to the sidelines for five years, largely silent, being told what they could and could not do or else suffer the consequences.
According to The Hyphenate, he was always present in every Monday meeting for two years with the Berrics' employees and the representative of Hypebeast.
"As much as Berra try to make it seem like Hypebeast has been the one in charge of all the content, Hypebeast being the majority owner of The Berrics for the past several years, that's not the case at all," the YouTuber said.
He added. "I've been in every single Monday meeting for two years, which has The Berrics entire team. The Hypebeast representative that oversees The Berrics and Berra is supposed to be on these weekly Monday meetings."
"Those two years that I was on that, he was never on those calls, never part of those meetings." He said. "Hypebeast did not control any content, they did not dictate any of the content. All Hypebeast was there on that call for, to stay up to date with what was happening."
"The Berrics team would be the ones explaining what is going on, what's coming up, etc." He explained. "All content control by the Berrics with the person who approves and disapproves being Steve Berra."
