WKND Skateboards' head honcho, Grant Yansura, has shed light on the departure of their former rider and professional skateboarder, Austyn Gillette.

In a new Thrasher segment, "Out There," Yansura voiced his speculation that Gillette might have parted ways with the team in pursuit of personal accommodations, opting for a private hotel room instead of sharing with the rest of the team during tours and events.

Gillette was an integral part of the WKND team for several years. His departure left many fans and fellow riders bewildered, prompting rumors and speculation about the reasons behind his exit.

During the interview, Yansura hinted at the potential rift that emerged within the team concerning accommodations while on the road.

He suggested that Gillette's desire for a private hotel room instead of bonding and sharing experiences with his teammates might have influenced his decision to leave the brand since he used to skate for a more prominent company, but WKND was a small business then.
