The Golden Era of Skateboarding has just dropped its official trailer, giving everyone a glimpse of what’s coming in this new four-part Docuseries.
What started as a single documentary episode has now grown into a full series that dives deep into a period of skateboarding history that hasn’t been fully explored before.
This series takes viewers back to the days when skateboarding was changing fast, and a generation of skaters were reshaping what people thought was possible on a skateboard. The Golden Era skaters experimented with new tricks, innovative styles, and competitions that helped bring skateboarding into the spotlight worldwide.
These early innovators paved the way for modern skateboarding and even helped make the sport a part of the Olympics.
The Docuseries highlights some of the first-ever vertical bowl contests, including the Hester Series #1 in 1978, Hester Series #2 in 1979, and the Gold Cup Series in 1980. Fans will get to see archival footage that has never been shown before, capturing moments that shaped the history of skateboarding.
Alongside these historical clips, the series includes updates on the original skaters, interviews, and footage from the El Gato Classic Legends Weekend Events, where these skaters reunited after more than 40 years.
Directed by Alfredo M. R. Vicente and Eddie "El Gato" Elguera, and produced by El Gato Classics and Stage Dive Films, the series also features music by The Faction, including tracks from Dark Room and Lost in Space.
The combination of historic footage, interviews, and music makes the series a rich look at a defining period for skateboarding fans old and new.
