"Marc saw skateboarding differently than anyone else. His skating was graceful, beautiful, thoughtful, and completely his own. He could take tricks that shouldn’t look good on paper and somehow make them look timeless and beautiful.
Beyond the skating, Marc was passionate, deeply dedicated, and endlessly influential. He pushed skateboarding forward simply by being himself.
His arms, his clothes, his feet, every movement had style, creativity, and feeling.
Marc’s endless passion, thought, dedication, and hard work looked effortless. He changed skateboarding forever with his humor, creativity, sarcasm, individuality, and style. Marc could skate to music in his parts that nobody else could. And if you didn’t know that music yet, it would somehow become one of your favorite songs because he made it all look and sound so good.
Marc was also honest about his complicated relationship with skateboarding, and that honesty made people connect with him even more.
We traveled the world together, sat in the van together, laughed together, made mistakes together and grew together.
Thank you for everything you gave to Chocolate and to skateboarding as a whole. Your influence, creativity, and artistry will live forever"
