Ginwoo Onodera continues to show why so many people have their eyes on him.
The young Japanese prodigy stepped into the year with huge momentum by officially turning pro for Jart Skateboards, and he capped it off with something even bigger: his first Street League Skateboarding Super Crown win.
The event was filled with heavy skating from the start, but Onodera kept his cool the entire time. He finished with 37.3 points, putting him at the top of the podium. Sora Shirai followed with 36.6 points, and Nyjah Huston landed in third with 27.5 points.
At only fifteen years old, Onodera delivered clean flip ins and flip outs throughout the contest. Each time he landed something technical, the crowd lit up. It felt like everyone knew they were witnessing someone rising fast and staying confident under pressure.
Turning pro is already a huge moment for any skater. Winning the Super Crown in the same year makes it even sweeter. The reaction online matched the excitement in the arena, with SLS posting:
"His first year in SLS and he won the Super Crown
