On January 17, 2017, Zac Clark from F*ck The Population tweeted that he was hoping to team up with Vans that year but didn’t get the chance to make it happen.
Clark still worked hard and created the FTP is Not a Skateboard Company Instagram account to capture skateboarders via his clothing line and released a skate video to promote his business, with professional skateboarder Antwuan Dixon as the main man.
The video blew up, gaining more followers on his FTP is Not a Skateboard Company account as well as his main FTP account.
After 8 years of waiting and working to grow his clothing company and new board brand, Vans finally reached out to the FTP chief.
Despite the curse word in the branding, the VF Corp brand will still collaborate with FTP in 2025.
Zac FTP stayed true to his vision, never letting missed opportunities slow him down.
He built FTP into something bigger, connected with the skateboard community, and kept putting in the work.
Now, after years of grinding, the Vans collab is finally happening. It’s a full-circle moment. One that shows how patience, persistence, and staying true to what you believe in can make things happen, no matter how long it takes.
