Metal Skateboards professional skateboarder Fred Gall is asking the skateboarding community for help as he and his partner face the possibility of losing his childhood home.
Gall recently shared a short but serious message about their situation, writing:
“We really fucked up this time and need help bad, if not we can’t bounce back from this one.”
The message came alongside a GoFundMe fundraiser launched by Jason Carroll on behalf of Gall and his partner.
According to the fundraiser, the couple has fallen behind on their mortgage and utility bills after Gall lost his job and struggled to find steady employment.
The home in question is not just any place for Gall. It is his childhood home, making the situation especially personal for the longtime pro skater.
In the fundraiser, Gall explains that losing his job left him trying to get his finances back under control while also dealing with a difficult period in his personal life.
His partner also spent time in jail, creating additional financial problems for the couple.
With their bills piling up, the couple is now facing the risk of foreclosure.
The fundraiser is intended to help them catch up on their mortgage payments and keep essential utilities such as electricity running while Gall looks for steady work.
The goal is to give them enough time to get their finances back under control and avoid losing the home.
Gall also admits that asking for financial help is not something he is comfortable doing. Still, the importance of keeping the house has led him to put his pride aside and ask the skate community and others for support.
The fundraiser asks for donations of any size, but it also encourages people who cannot contribute financially to share the GoFundMe with friends, family and others who may be willing to help.
Gall has been part of skateboarding for decades, with a career that has included appearances in influential videos and parts that helped establish his place in the scene. Now, he is dealing with a very different kind of challenge away from the streets and skate spots.
For Gall and his partner, the immediate priority is keeping a roof over their heads and holding on to a home that has deep personal meaning.
The GoFundMe comes at a difficult point for the couple, but Gall noted that they need help and are trying to get their lives back under control.
Anyone who wants to support Gall and his partner can donate to the fundraiser or share it with others who may be able to help.
