Sony VX1000 custom painter Aaron Felix has come forward after being inactive for a long period, addressing complaints from clients who say they paid for custom camera work but never received their cameras or updates.
Over the past couple of years, skaters and collectors online had been sharing experiences about missing orders and lack of communication, with many saying they were left waiting without any clear answers.
Some well known skaters also shared their experiences.
Pro skater Ishod Wair said he nearly did not get his camera back after it was held for about two years, adding that he had to repeatedly follow up before it was eventually returned.
"I almost didn’t get mine back. He had mine for 2 years and I kept hitting him up after the 2 year mark until he sent it back."
Hadbody Skateboards also shared a similar experience, saying they paid $1,875 for a painted camera and did not receive the item after sending payment.
"Yes. Paid 1875 for a painted camera. Once he got the money he went ghost. Never got the camera"
After a long period without public updates, Felix posted a statement acknowledging what happened.
In his message, he said he stopped communicating with customers who had trusted him with their cameras and custom orders.
He said he understood the frustration caused, especially for people who paid and did not receive their items or updates.
Felix explained that during that period he was dealing with a serious mental health crisis and addiction.
He said he was not functioning properly, became isolated, and failed to keep communication going with clients.
He also stated that he has been working on recovery and is now 344 days sober and in a more stable situation.
He said he is now working through outstanding orders that are still in his possession. He asked affected customers to contact him directly through email so he can handle each case individually.
He also outlined options for those affected, including returning items as they are, finishing the custom work with a realistic timeline, or offering refunds through a structured payment plan.
Felix said he understands that trust was broken and stated that he is taking responsibility for what happened.
He also said he will respond to each person and try to resolve remaining cases one by one.

"I owe an explanation and an apology.
I stopped communicating with customers who trusted me with their cameras and custom orders. That is my responsibility, and I understand the frustration and concern this caused—especially for those who paid and did not receive their items or updates.
During this time, I was dealing with a serious mental health crisis and addiction. I was not functioning, failed to communicate, and became isolated. With a lot of work and therapy, I am now 344 days sober and in a stable place, and I am committed to making this right.
I am actively working through the outstanding orders currently in my possession.
If you are one of the affected customers, please contact me at AJFelix1981@gmail.com.
Here are the options I can offer: • Return of your item as-is • Completion of the work with a clear, realistic timeline • A refund through a structured payment plan
I will respond to each message and handle cases one by one.
I understand that trust was broken. I’m taking responsibility and working to fix what I can.
Thank you to those willing to give me the opportunity to make this right. My sincerest apologies."
