Professional skateboarder and Skate Mental head honcho Brad Staba has revealed that he didn't come up with the name for his company.
The 44-year-old said that the skateboard brand was initially a joke from the very beginning and was just all for fun.
An old friend of Staba jokingly said that he wanted to have a skateboard company and fellow professional skateboarder Frank Gewer gave him the name Skate Mental just to make the old friend shut up since they were in a bar in San Francisco just drinking and having a good time.
After many inside jokes and teasing, Staba began creating things in his San Francisco basement.
"We started running it. He said, "It was more funny than anything from the very beginning so, but it was Frank Gerwer."
