Professional skateboarder Shuriken Shannon's uncle rapper Flavor Flav has been chosen as the official hype man at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
At 65, Flavor Flav, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., is rocking a new role alongside USA Water Polo and proving he's still got it.
Flavor Flav has been a lively presence at the games, showing up poolside at USA Water Polo's matches decked out in a water polo cap and a blinged-out Team USA clock necklace.
His role as the "official hype man" is part of a cool sponsorship deal that will see him boosting the team's spirit and spreading the word about water polo.
The rapper first linked up with the team after seeing a heartfelt Instagram post from athlete Maggie Steffens.
Maggie highlighted the sacrifices Olympians make to chase their dreams and how crucial sponsorships are for them.
Flavor Flav was quick to show his support, commenting, "As a girl dad and supporter of all women's sports - imma personally sponsor you my girl,,, whatever you need."
He followed through with a promise to use his resources and connections to support the team.
Though the exact amount of his contribution remains under wraps, Flavor Flav is committed to making his presence felt. "I'm going to be bigger than any cheerleader they've had in their life," he declared to the Associated Press. "I'm going to cheer this team on, and I'm going to cheer this team into winning a gold medal."
