According to an Ookla Speedtest in August 2020, the Philippines ranked at the lower part of the global index in terms of average broadband and mobile speeds. As a result, many Filipinos complained about Converge ICT Solutions, commonly referred to as Converge, "a telecommunication service provider in the Philippines" that operates fiber-optic broadband networks, cable television, and cable internet on how the country has 16.44Mbps for mobile downloads and 25.34Mbps for broadband. The reason Converge "the metalcore/hardcore punk band" received complaints from Filipinos but not about their music or how they play on stage.
Converge (Metalcore/Hardcore Punk Band) posted their "Beautiful Ruin" 7" EP/Digital as their profile picture to promote their music and merchandise last June 29, 2018. However, a lot of Filipinos are still in the comments section complaining and trolling even if the photo is about the band's "Extended Play" cover.
For some reason, they are on the wrong Facebook account and are trying to still flood the page. Fun fact, the Philippines has been included in the list of happiest places in the world as per CNN's report, and all Pinoy's know that being happy and joking around makes the problems get out of their minds. The American band on the other hand addressed the situation in a statement below.
The band states:
"Hey everyone... still just a hardcore band over here. Covid has not forced us to become an internet provider in the Philippines yet, but we hope everyone over there gets their internet access back. While you’re here though click the link to our webstore and grab yourself a cool T-shirt or something."
