An influential figure during the 1990s, Fabian Alomar was a member of the notorious Menace team, which gained notoriety for its aggressive style and rebellious attitude.

Menace skateboarding marked a turning point in skate history when it faced unprecedented challenges, with Alomar and his crew inadvertently making skateboarding a target for legal crackdowns.

During the early 1990s, skateboarding underwent a dramatic transformation. It evolved from a niche subculture to a mainstream phenomenon, capturing the attention of youth worldwide.

Menace, a gnarly team based in Los Angeles, emerged as a dominant force within this shifting landscape. With Alomar as one of its key members, Menace adopted an aggressive and confrontational style, pushing itself further from what was deemed acceptable within the core skateboard scene.

When Alomar went to the Nine Club Podcast, he said that the skating scene was unfriendly to a skateboarder. "Skateboarding was supposed to be a crime. We made it a crime. He said if you hit me, it's going to be a crime."

The pivotal period in skateboarding history was marked by the controversial antics of Fabian Alomar and his teammates.

While their rebellious behavior fueled their fame within the skateboarding community, it drew negative attention from authorities and the public.

Many perceived skateboarding as a public nuisance, leading to strict regulations and even outright bans in numerous public spaces.
