Fitness and calisthenics coach Frank Medrano is letting everyone know that there are no real excuses when it comes to staying active.
A lot of people tend to say they cannot train at home because they do not have gear or they do not have enough time in the day.
His message is simple, you can start right where you are with what you already have.
In one of his demonstrations, he uses a skateboard in creative ways to build strength and control.
One of the movements he shows is a push up variation where the skateboard is incorporated into the flow, followed by a squat position where the board is moved around the neck area in a controlled motion before repeating the sequence.
It looks unusual at first, but it is designed to keep the body working in multiple directions.
He also shares another idea using a rubber rope attached to a skateboard. In this setup, the skateboard is pulled in while the body stays in a push up position. This adds tension to the core and forces the midsection to stay active throughout the movement. It is a simple setup, but it keeps the stomach and stabilizer muscles engaged the entire time.
Another variation focuses again on push up style movement, this time without the rope. Instead, the focus is on controlled upper body movement while keeping the chest and core working together. It is steady and repetitive, designed to build strength using slow and consistent motion.
For lower body work, he demonstrates squat movements using the skateboard as added resistance. He even shows how you can place the board on your back while near a wall for support, then go through squat reps. This keeps the legs active while also challenging balance and control.
He finishes with another push up variation that includes lifting the legs in a controlled way while pressing through the upper body. This creates more demand on the core and helps connect upper and lower body strength in one movement.
The overall message is straightforward. You do not need a full setup or a gym space to start training your body. With a skateboard and your own body weight, you can build a routine that keeps you moving and working on strength at home or wherever you are.
