The Piss Drunx is the legendary crew and most notorious faction of all time in skateboarding history.
Ellington and the rest of the heavy-hitting squad became known and adopted the 'fuck everything' attitude that turned them into skateboarding icons. But looking back, many of the original members have already been sober except pro skater Dustin Dollin, who is the last of the Piss Drunx.
Sobriety is more than just quitting drugs and alcohol. It is the ongoing process of embracing a substance-free life and improving yourself.
When you become sober, your body and mind can experience many changes. These changes can sometimes be complex, which may cause you to question if it's worth it. Though it may be challenging at times, sobriety has many benefits.
The beginning stages of sobriety can be challenging, but Ellington embraced it like a champ.
"8 years sober life is good," Ellington said. "Over these last eight years, I've learned to take accountability for my actions and do my best to live with empathy, compassion, and love toward others."
"I've been able to confront personal issues instead of suppressing and internalizing them like I used to." He explained. "I celebrate my wins with my best attempt at humility and learn from my personal failures instead of beating myself up."
He added. "All praise is due to a higher power in my life giving me the strength to stay sober, my family, my friends, and others who are in recovery."
