A core skater recently pulled up at Lot 11 Miami Skatepark ready for a sesh but according to him, he wasn't allowed to skate.
In a video he recorded, a temporary fence had been set up around part of the park.
He claimed that a group of liberal skaters had blocked off the area and said it was only open to LGBTQIA+, girls and women. No straight guys allowed.
The skater, who asked not to be named or tagged, and his friend, who sent this to ShreddER, shared the video online to let others know what he saw.
In the clip, you can see the fenced-off section with people skating inside, while he stood around outside.
No official signs were posted, but according to him and sources, the message was made clear when he tried to go in.
There wasn’t a big crowd reacting to the situation - just the skater recording and explaining what was happening.
He said the group inside was direct about the space being for LGBTQIA+ and women only, and that men weren’t welcome during that time.
As of now, it doesn't look like there’s been any official response from the city or the people running the skatepark.
It’s also unclear if the fence was put up with any kind of approval or if it was just something done on their own.
Lot 11 is usually open to everyone, and it's one of the most popular spots in Miami. For now, it seems like this was a small situation caught on video, but it’s already getting skateboarders talking online about how public parks should be used and who gets to decide when they can be exclusive.
Watch the video and speak for yourself.
