Skateboarding legend Daewon Song shared that he was involved in a serious car crash after another driver allegedly ran a red light and slammed into his vehicle.
Posting about the incident on social media, Daewon let everyone know that he avoided life threatening injuries, even though the crash left him with whiplash and a dislocated left arm.
“Somebody ran a red light straight into me! I’m all good but should be on a plane.”
He later shared more details about what happened and explained just how severe the collision was.
“Made sure to record her admitting guilt. Her car spun 3 times before hitting a pole and electric box. She had to be going at least 65/70 mph, the way it ripped the whole front end of the car off! A few seconds earlier and it would’ve split down the middle. Definitely got lucky. Worst night of sleep with whiplash and dislocated left arm but blessed to be okay otherwise.”
According to Daewon, he recorded the other driver admitting responsibility after the crash.
He also said the impact was so hard that the other vehicle spun three times before crashing into a utility pole and an electrical box.
He believes the car was traveling at around 65 to 70 miles per hour based on the amount of damage.
Even with the injuries, Daewon said he knows the outcome could have been much worse.
He explained that if the collision had happened only a few seconds earlier, the impact could have struck a different part of his vehicle with far more serious consequences.
Many were relieved to hear that he was still able to walk away from such a violent crash despite suffering a dislocated left arm and whiplash.
Right now, Daewon is focused on recovering from his injuries after what he described as one of the worst nights of sleep following the accident.
