Not everyone is happy with skateboarding being part of the Olympics.
This is the second time skateboarding has been included in the corporate sports setting, which has led Consolidated to hate what skating has become.
To counter the new corporate skate culture, Consolidated has taken a bold stance against the International Olympic Committee with their "Shower the Olympics with Gold" piss skateboard deck and stated, "Skateboarding is not a sport."
Consolidated's message is loud and clear: "For those of you who share our sentiments, we’ve got just a few of these left. We thought now’s the perfect time to share this with you." If you’re aligned with their views, you might want to snag one before they’re all gone.
Leticia and Birdo have been vocal about rejecting the corporation’s attempt to commercialize the skate industry, and even Nike didn’t escape their critique with their "Don’t Do It" movement.
The brand has also released their anti-Nike skate shoes called "The Drunks," which has generated excitement among core skaters and gatekeepers.
If you are a core gatekeeping skateboarder, you will love Consolidated Skateboards' new deck, now available. Purchase here.
