OG professional skateboarder Chad Knight reached out to the skateboarding community for help after suffering an insane neck injury.
Last year, a sudden head jerk while he was driving triggered severe, ongoing issues.
He was already dealing with heavy past wreck damage: a fully torn collarbone joint (4th-degree shoulder separation), eight broken ribs, and a bent chest bone.
After the driving incident, he said he had intense pain spreading through his neck, jaw, collarbone socket, and back.
Symptoms grew to include pinched nerves, a clicking jaw, trouble breathing and swallowing, plus 24-hour vomiting fits.
Scans like MRIs, CTs, and X-rays showed nothing to explain the physical misery.
Daily life remains tough, forcing him onto his back most days.

Sharing this to see if anybody has had a similar experience and can help shed some light on what I’m trying to diagnose.
Last year I was driving when my head violently snapped to the side. Since then, I’ve been completely screwed up.
For context, I have a 20 year old fourth-degree right shoulder separation (from hitting a rock filming @kristiansvitak trying what I’m sure was a groundbreaking line), when I was at Nike I broke eight ribs on that side and for some reason, my xiphoid process is bent to the right side.
First, it was just excruciating neck and shoulder pain. Lots of pinched nerves. Then my jaw started clicking and it felt like it was pressurized air coming out of my tonsils. The pain is right near my SC joint. It feels like there is a screwdriver stuck in my neck in the front. The backside also hurts on the right, but it’s more between my shoulder blades, as this incident has has forced my body to compensate everywhere. Sometimes the pain goes up my neck all the way to my ear. Sometimes it’s hard to breathe and swallow. Sometimes I have vomiting episodes that last for 24 hours
I spend most of the day on my back again. I was walking 5 miles a day, doing strength, training and stretching until something slipped back at place a couple weekends ago.
It feels like something is dislocated in my neck. I’ve had MRI x-rays and CT scans. No findings that supports my symptoms. If anybody has any information they can share I would be very grateful.
The worst thing is that the pain becomes background and I just become annoyed all the time and when the pain goes up, I get more annoyed. Who wants to spend any time around that? Please help. 🙌🏼 cannabis sponsors hit me up."
