Model and skateboarder Brooklinn Khoury, 24, became triumphant after a gnarly pitbull attack in November 2020 left her upper lip torn off and part of her nose destroyed.
Having undergone $400,000 of facial surgeries, Khoury's physical appearance has been restored, but her newfound perspective on beauty transcends mere aesthetics.
The vicious pitbull assault, lasting a daunting 30 seconds, shook Khoury's world, both physically and emotionally.
Unaware of the severity of the damage, until she glimpsed herself in the mirror, she described feeling like a "skeleton." Yet, beyond the scars and reconstructive procedures, Khoury has discovered a profound truth about beauty.
In an interview with "Good Morning America," Khoury expressed that her journey towards self-love and acceptance was catalyzed by the support of her family and friends. "There's so much more to beauty than what meets the eye," she affirmed.
Despite the ongoing surgical processes, including tattooing her new top lip, Khoury's focus is not on achieving physical perfection but on embracing the beauty found within.
