The Berrics has just announced something very exciting for skaters and fans in Japan.
To celebrate the grand opening of the brand new Skate Plaza at Fuji Q Highland, they are hosting the “Battle At The Berrics Japan Special Edition.” This is a huge deal because it brings together some of Japan’s most talented skaters with past BATB champions that fans have admired for years.
If you are in Japan this weekend, you actually get the chance to see it all live on August 24th at the Fuji BerriQs Skate Plaza.
Just like the original events at The Berrics, this will bring that head to head format where style, consistency, and creativity all come together on flatground.
What makes this event even more special is the timing. The plaza is brand new, which means the opening itself is already a big celebration. Adding a Battle At The Berrics event on top of that makes it something you do not see often.
For anyone who has followed skateboarding over the years, BATB has been one of the most watched and loved formats. It takes a simple game of S.K.A.T.E. and turns it into something that highlights skill while also creating unforgettable matchups. Bringing that into Japan for the first time makes it even more meaningful.
For those who cannot make it to Fuji Q Highland, The Berrics has made sure no one will miss out. Just like the early days of the battles, they will be filming everything and posting the matchups after the event.
That way fans around the world will still get to experience each battle as if they were right there watching.
Steve Berra and Eric Koston shared their thanks to everyone in Japan and everyone who continues to support what they do. Their message shows how much this means not only to the skaters but also to the larger skateboarding community.
