Authentic Brands, the parent company of popular board sports brands Airwalk and Volcom, is gearing up to significantly acquire DC Shoes, Quiksilver, RVCA, Element skateboards, and other brands under Boardriders Inc.
According to Shop Eat Surf, Authentic Brands Group is reportedly back in the mix to acquire Boardriders, Inc. after the exclusivity period for Bluestar Alliance expired without a deal.
However, the deal is expected to be complex due to various factors, including numerous retail lease obligations worldwide and a significant corporate presence in France, which has stringent social laws that can make downsizing expensive.
The potential acquisition of Boardriders by Authentic Brands has been making waves in the board sports industry.
Authentic Brands, which owns Volcom and more than 40 other brands, is one of the world's leading licensing companies and is no stranger to strategic acquisitions. With the possible addition of world-renowned brands to its portfolio, Authentic Brands aims further to solidify its position in the global board sports market.
