Australian footwear, clothing, and skateboard hardware company Globe International Ltd. has rebranded its skateboarding shoe department and picked pro skater Austyn Gillette in their new updated skate look.
Founded in 1985 by three Australian brothers, the company focuses on Skateboard, Surf, Snow, and Workwear.
In 1994 the globe brand shoes for skateboarding was introduced to the public, and it has sponsored top-notched pros in the game such as Rodney Mullen, Mark Appleyard, and many more.
This year the company rebranded with Gillette being the face for the mass audience, saying "Welcome to Globe Skateboarding."
The 30-year-old regular-footed pro thanked Globe for choosing him as the new skateboarder for the brand.
"Throughout my career I’ve consciously made the decision to ride for brands that are owned by skateboarders." Gillette wrote. "This choice has always offered more creative freedom and the ability to get the right messaging across."
He added. "I’m excited to announce a new chapter for a brand that has undeniably supported skateboarding since it’s inception nearly 30 years ago. After extensive communication and many months of hard work to get things just right, I can proudly say that we have redefined what the brand will be in skating."
"Thanks to the team and everyone at Globe for the trust and support. Look forward to sharing everything that we’ve been working on."
