Professional skateboarder Antwuan Dixon recently shared a very personal side of his life, opening up about some of the darkest moments he went through after losing both of his parents.

His story has been getting attention again after Thrasher Magazine documented his return and featured him on the cover along with a mini documentary called Out There that shows where he is today.

The video and coverage revisit a lot of what he went through over the years.

It shows the rough patches that included drug use, getting into fights, and spending time in jail on multiple occasions.

It does not shy away from how unstable things became during certain parts of his life.

A major part of what he shared connects to the loss of his father in 2009.

That moment hit him hard, and things became even more difficult when his mother passed away in 2015.

After that, he spoke honestly about how he drifted further into destructive habits and struggled to find direction.

He also revealed that at one point he attempted to end his own life.

He said he did not fully understand what he was doing at the time and did not realize the risks tied to what he was taking, but he believes the power of God saved him from death.

There were times when things did not feel like they were improving, and he kept slipping back into old patterns.

Still, his story shows how things slowly began to shift after a long stretch of instability.

He spoke about how his final jail experience became a turning point for him mentally, where something changed in how he viewed his life and the direction he wanted to go.

From there, he describes a moment of surrender in his faith.

He credits that shift to his relationship with Jesus Christ, saying it helped him step away from the cycle he had been stuck in for years.

That change became the foundation for how he started rebuilding his life.

Today, his return to skating and his appearance in Thrasher highlight someone who has been through a lot and is now trying to move forward with a different mindset.

The documentary gives a closer look at both the struggles and the steps he has taken to rebuild, showing a side of him that many people may not have known before.
