Hardbody professional skateboarder Antonio Durao has been busy in the streets, stacking clips and staying active like always.
But skating is only part of what he gives his time to.
Recently, he reached out to the Uganda Skateboard Society with a generous donation of decks, griptape, wheels, trucks and bearings.
For a community that continues to grow with limited access to equipment, this kind of support means a lot.
The crews out in Uganda work hard to build their scene with whatever they have, and receiving quality gear from someone they look up to brings real excitement and motivation.
Durao has always shown heart in the way he treats people and the way he carries himself.
With his constant work on new footage and the way he connects with skaters across the world, plenty of people think he deserves real recognition in this year’s Skater of the Year race.
The Uganda crew expressed their appreciation, grateful that someone across the world took the time to think of them.
It is a moment that shows how skateboarding can link people from completely different places.
Much love to Durao for making it happen and much respect to the Uganda Skateboard Society for keeping their scene alive and active.
