When people think about professional skateboarders, they often picture big sponsorships, steady income, and a lifestyle backed by brand deals.
But the reality can be very different. Birdhouse pro skater Aaron “Jaws” Homoki recently shared how much he actually earns from skating and his answer surprised a lot of fans.
The chat kicked off on TikTok when a user @monkey_terd asked him about his income. He didn't dodge the question, Homoki answered honestly. He said he makes about 800 dollars a month from skateboarding, which comes to around 9,600 dollars a year.
For someone who has starred in major video parts and inspired skaters worldwide, the number came as a surprise.
Homoki delivered the news with humor, joking, “In 100 years I will be a millionaire… practically rich.” Skaters appreciated the honesty, especially since money and sponsorships are topics most pros rarely address.
It points to the growing importance of side projects, personal branding, and alternative income sources. Platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram allow skateboarders to connect directly with fans, share content, and build new revenue streams beyond traditional sponsorships.
Homoki’s reply may inspire younger skaters to think more creatively about sustaining a career in skateboarding.
