Globe is seeing strong growth in skateboarding shoes this year as interest in ’90s skate styles continues to return.
According to reports, CEO Matt Hill says the brand’s heritage footwear has grown steadily over the past few years.
At the same time, newer skate and lifestyle shoes are performing just as well.
That has helped Globe grow across core retailers, mainstream stores and its direct to consumer business.
The company has also been shifting its portfolio toward apparel and footwear, with less focus on hardgoods.
For Globe, both its classic designs and newer footwear are helping keep the category growing.
Still, the brand faces a tough market as large corporate skate shoe brands continue to dominate much of the skate industry.
Globe is working to keep its place in the market, stay relevant to skaters and keep the business going despite the pressure from bigger competitors.
