Core skater and Jiu Jitsu fighter Jonah Hill has a message for anyone who still sees him as the “fat guy from Superbad,” saying he is not exactly the same guy anymore.

Hill recently talked about his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training during a live appearance on the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett.

Hill joked about how seriously he has taken Jiu Jitsu, even while admitting that his body does not always appreciate the training.

He also talked about his wife's reaction, with her reminding him that he is a comedian and not a professional fighter.

The conversation eventually turned toward the jokes Hill still hears about his weight and his Superbad days.

Hill noted that he would not take kindly to someone trying those jokes on him in person, joking that his Jiu Jitsu training gives him a very different way to deal with anyone looking for trouble.

Hill's connection to physical training also fits with his long relationship with skateboarding.

Jonah Hill says jiu jitsu has him ready to “annihilate” anyone who still sees him as the fat guy from Superbad

“I love Brazilian jiu jitsu, except my body is begging me not to love it. My wife is often like, ‘You’re not going to become a professional fighter. You know that,… pic.twitter.com/tDnNTRHTOo

He directed Mid90s, the 2018 movie centered around a group of young Los Angeles skaters in the 1990s.

Hill has remained closely connected to skate culture, making his interest in BJJ another part of his connection to the scene.

More skaters have also been getting into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing and kickboxing in recent years.

The training offers skaters another way to work on balance, coordination, conditioning and body control away from the board.

For Hill, it is another chapter beyond the image people still associate with Superbad.

He is now a filmmaker, skater and Jiu Jitsu fighter, and is pretty confident that anyone trying the old weight jokes on him might want to think twice.
