Pro skateboarder and musician Austyn Gillette has officially released his new EP, "Moments," which is now available on vinyl and across streaming platforms.
Gillette shared the news on social media, adding that fans who pick up the vinyl edition will also receive a collection of demos on Side B that will not be released digitally.
The new record came together after a year filled with travel.
According to Gillette, spending much of 2025 overseas gave him a different perspective on happiness, success, and everyday life.
While visiting different countries, he noticed that many people appeared content with far less than what is often considered necessary back home.
Those observations led him to ask himself a series of questions. What is enough? Do people ever reach the version of life they imagine for themselves?
Why does it seem like there is always something else to chase after once a goal has been achieved?
Gillette explained that these thoughts became an important part of the writing process. During that time, he discovered the Swedish word "Lagom," which roughly translates to "just the right amount." The concept stayed with him and became one of the foundations for the record.
Along with themes surrounding contentment and perspective, the EP also touches on friendships, relationships, love letters, and the many situations people find themselves thinking about long after they happen.
The title Moments grew naturally during the writing process. Gillette said the word kept appearing throughout the songs and eventually became a central idea behind the project. The songs explore the act of appreciating a moment, creating one, letting one pass, and accepting that every experience is temporary.
When putting the record together, Gillette wanted the listening experience to feel connected from beginning to end.
He described it as something that could accompany everyday activities such as cooking dinner, driving with the windows down, or sitting on a train while getting lost in the music and story being told.
Gillette also thanked collaborators Jesse Noah Wilson and Dom Billett for their contributions to the project, expressing his appreciation for the time and talent they brought to the recording.
Core heads can stream the EP now or pick up the vinyl edition for access to the exclusive demos unavailable anywhere else.
