A 19-year-old YouTube skater named Gabriel R. Schuch is facing felony charges after police say he used a skateboard during an assault that left a victim with a fractured skull and a brain bleed.

According to reports, Schuch was arrested following an incident that occurred around midnight on Thursday near the Crystal Lake Metra station.

Police were called to the area after receiving a report that someone had been attacked.

When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from serious head injuries. As detectives looked into what happened, they determined that a skateboard had allegedly been used during the confrontation.

Court documents state that Schuch struck the victim in the head with the wheel and axle section of the skateboard.

Investigators allege the blows were severe enough to fracture the victim's skull and cause bleeding on the brain.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. Information regarding the victim's current condition has not been released.

Schuch has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery, both Class 3 felonies. One charge relates to causing great bodily harm, while the second stems from the alleged attack taking place in a public area.

After identifying Schuch as a suspect, law enforcement agencies worked to locate him. Police said he was eventually found around 1:55 a.m. near Interstate 80 and the Tri State Tollway in Lansing, Illinois.

He was taken into custody by the Illinois State Police without further incident.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding what led up to the altercation.

Investigators also have not indicated whether the victim and suspect knew each other before the incident.

The case remains under investigation, and Crystal Lake Police are asking anyone who may have information related to the incident to contact the department.

Police also thanked the Illinois State Police for assisting with Schuch's arrest.

Schuch’s YouTube channel contains multiple skateboarding videos, including content featuring fellow influencer Bryan Arnett, along with other recordings of him skating in public areas and practice sessions.
