For the past several months, pro skateboarder Bastien Salabanzi has been everywhere.
The skateboarding icon has been spending plenty of time in the streets, filming clips, attending events, connecting with skaters, and continuing to support the companies that back him.
Salabanzi has also been spreading positive messages throughout the skate community. One of his latest projects is Skate For Peace, an event scheduled for July 1 that aims to bring people together while speaking out against war, violence, and genocide.

The French pro skater has made it known that he wants skateboarding to be about more than tricks. He wants it to bring people together and encourage people to care about one another.
His message has consistently been about love, respect, kindness, and looking out for others.
Following the recent passing of skateboarding legend Marc Johnson, many skaters have been sharing thoughts about life, friendship, and appreciating the people around them.

Salabanzi has been one of the voices encouraging positivity during a difficult time for many within the community.
Now he is making a personal change of his own.
In a recent post, Salabanzi revealed that he has decided to quit smoking cigarettes and stop taking drugs.
He explained that he wants to take better care of his body, mind, and spirit while dedicating more attention to the things that matter most to him, including family, skateboarding, music, and just being a positive person.
Salabanzi posted:
"I decided to treat my body, mind and spirit accordingly to my philosophy. Therefore, I’ve decided to stop smoking cigarettes, stop taking drugs or anything that could harm me in anyways. I wanna focus on Family,Skateboarding,Music and treating everybody with Love, respect, generosity and kindness ❤️
Nothin but Love everybody!! Everyday Better 🕊️🫶🏽✨❤️"
For many people, quitting cigarettes and drugs is not easy.
Salabanzi's announcement was met with support from fans and fellow skaters who praised his decision to focus on his health, family, and spiritual life.

His message is simple. Take care of yourself, appreciate your loved ones, treat others with kindness, and keep getting better each day.
