EA skate. has rolled out a new collaboration that is getting skateboarders talking, and it is not the direction many expected.

Instead of teaming up with professional skateboarders for its latest Isle of Grom content, the game has partnered with YouTuber ZexyZek, who has 2.74 million subscribers on his channel.

ZexyZek is known for gaming content and a long running presence on YouTube, where his videos have gathered millions of views over time.

His involvement with skate. brings a different kind of audience into the mix, especially those who may follow him more for entertainment content rather than skating culture itself.

The collaboration introduces new challenges inside Isle of Grom, giving players tasks to complete while playing.

These challenges are designed around gameplay objectives that reward players for finishing them, with limited time items tied to ZexyZek available until May 26. It is a time limited set of content, so players who want the rewards will need to get in before it ends.

skate. shared the announcement saying they teamed up with ZexyZek to bring new challenges to Isle of Grom.

The challenges are meant to test player skills in different ways, and completing them unlocks themed rewards connected to the collaboration.

For some players, the choice of partner stands out because skate. has historically leaned heavily into skating culture and professional input.

This time, the focus shifts toward a creator who built his audience online rather than through skating itself. That decision has sparked discussion across communities, especially among long time fans who follow the franchise for its connection to skateboarding culture.

At the same time, collaborations like this are becoming more common across games, where creators with large online followings are brought in to introduce fresh content and reach wider audiences.

ZexyZek’s involvement fits into that pattern, bringing a familiar internet personality into the game’s challenge system.

The Isle of Grom update is now live, and players can jump in to try the new objectives and unlock the limited rewards before the event ends on May 26.
