Dayton Webber, a Maryland skateboarder who lost all four limbs as an infant has been arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing a passenger in his car.

According to reports, the incident happened late Sunday night when Webber, 27, was driving with Bradrick Wells, also 27, in the front seat.

Investigators say the two got into an argument in the car while other passengers were present. Webber allegedly shot Wells, then pulled over in La Plata and asked the other passengers to help him remove the body. They refused and fled, leaving Webber to drive away with Wells’ body.

Authorities were alerted when witnesses flagged down police officers patrolling the area. Later, a resident in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, reported finding a body in a yard. Officials confirmed it was Wells.

Webber’s car was later located about 150 miles away in Charlottesville, Virginia, and he was tracked to a hospital where he had reportedly gone for medical attention.

The Albemarle County Police Department arrested Webber after his discharge, and he is expected to be transferred back to Charles County to face murder, assault, and firearms charges.

Court filings indicate Webber knew the passengers from work and that he allegedly shot Wells twice in the head. Investigators have not shared a motive for the shooting.

A video on a YouTube account linked to Webber shows him loading a pistol and firing it four times, though authorities are still examining the details of the case.

Webber first gained attention more than a decade ago for overcoming the loss of his limbs as a baby due to a severe bacterial infection.

At 10 months old, he was given last rites after doctors feared he would not survive. He recovered after amputations and a long hospital stay, eventually becoming involved in athletics.

While Webber became known for his achievements in cornhole, he also has a strong connection to skateboarding. He was spotted on ESPN as a young athlete pursuing wrestling and football despite having no hands or feet.

Later, he focused on cornhole, signing a pro contract in 2021 and becoming the first quadruple amputee to compete professionally in the American Cornhole League. He earned multiple tournament wins and even appeared on SportsCenter for making a series of flawless shots.

Social media posts and past interviews show Webber as someone who embraced challenges, often sharing his wins and accomplishments with fans.

In a 2023 essay for NBC’s Today, he reflected on leading his cornhole team to a comeback victory in state finals, describing the feeling of going from underdog to winner.

Family members of Bradrick Wells have declined to comment, and authorities continue to investigate the case.
