Skateboarders have seen pro skateboarder Kelvin Hoefler rocking Skechers for a while now.
Clips of him skating in the shoes have been popping up across his social media, and he even wore them at Tampa Pro last year.
Back then, there was no official word from the brand, but skaters definitely noticed.
Now, on September 26, 2025, Skechers has made it official. Hoefler is joining the team and will be leading the charge as Skechers makes its comeback to the skateboarding scene.
The timing makes sense. Big names like Nike, Adidas, and New Balance have been dominating the market, and Skechers is now stepping back into the mix to challenge these brands.
Skateboarding is growing again, especially after its inclusion in the Olympics and with more professional skaters signing deals with major brands.
Skechers is not new to skateboarding. Back in 1998, Louie Barletta skated for the brand and even appeared in their advertisements. Check out the ad below!
Now, nearly three decades later, the company is ready to make another statement and reconnect with skaters everywhere.
Hoefler shared the news on his social media, posting alongside Skechers:
"Skate Meets Comfort. Proud to join Skechers Family as their first Skate Athlete!"
For corporate skate lovers, this means more visibility of Skechers on the streets and at competitions, as well as new designs tailored for skating.
It also signals that the brand is serious about returning to a market that has grown and changed significantly since their last run.
With Hoefler leading the way, Skechers is set to show what it can do in the skate world once again, combining comfort, style, and performance for skaters everywhere.
