Professional skateboarder Georgi Armani has officially parted ways with Brad Staba’s Skate Mental board brand.

After turning pro in February 2021, it looks like Armani is moving on.

The first signs of the split came when Armani posted clips of himself getting boards from April Skateboards and skating the decks on his social media, showing off a fresh setup from Shane O’Neill’s company.

There’s been no statement from either side, but it's clear he’s no longer repping Skate Mental.

This isn’t the first major change for Skate Mental in recent years.

Several high-profile riders have quietly exited the team. Skate legend Eric Koston left some time ago and now rides for EDGLRD, the experimental board brand that’s been making its way into select skate shops.

Dan Plunkett made his own move, now skating for Swim Skateboards, a newer name with a growing presence.

Even Curren Caples, who joined Skate Mental in mid-2021, dipped out and ended up at FA World Entertainment.

As for Skate Mental itself, it’s tough to say who’s still on the roster.

The brand’s been pretty quiet, and there hasn’t been much team activity out in the open. Armani’s departure just adds to the uncertainty around the direction of the company.

At the moment, there’s been no official announcement from April Skateboards about Armani joining the team.

He’s skating their decks, but whether it’s a guest hookup or something more permanent remains to be seen.

For now, Armani seems to be doing his own thing, keeping it low-key, filming, and staying on the board.
