Professional skateboarder Mike Vallely isn’t just lacing up his skate shoes - he’s grabbing the mic again.
After parting ways with Black Black, the skateboarding legend is reviving Mike V & The Rats, his longtime punk project known for loud guitars, gnarly lyrics, and the kind of mosh you’d expect from someone who’s never taken the easy route. The band is officially back and hitting the road this summer.
The band will be jumping on the Bats! Kats & Rats Tour alongside The Aquabats and The Koffin Kats, starting in mid-June and rolling through August.
That’s coast-to-coast mayhem with plenty of stops for old fans and new ones to catch up with Vallely in person.
“Hello Friends! I am SO HAPPY to announce the return of my original punk band, @mikevandtherats...” Mike V shared in a post, sounding fired up to get back on stage. He added that after every show, he’ll be sticking around to sign skateboards, lyrics, and hang out face-to-face with fans. So yeah—this isn’t just a gig and go home kind of thing.
The 54-year-old has always been about more than just tricks and tours. He’s someone who puts real effort into staying connected to the scene, whether it’s the skatepark or the stage. And this tour looks like a perfect crossover of both worlds.
