If you’ve been looking for a solid excuse to hang out with your homies more often, you’re in luck.

Skateboarding legends like the Piss Drunx crew - Erik Ellington, Jim Greco, Andrew Reynolds, Ali Boulala and Dustin Dollin have been proving for years that spending time with your closest crew isn’t just about the drinks; it’s about keeping those friendships tight.

Although Ellington, Greco, Reynolds, and Boulala are sober, science backs it up.

A recent study from the University of Oxford shows that grabbing drinks with your pals twice a week isn’t just a good time. It’s good for your health, too.

Seriously, skate homie nights aren’t just a chance to chill; they’re something men should actually be doing regularly to keep themselves feeling good

According to Robin Dunbar, the psychologist behind the study, it’s all about getting together with your closest crew.

Whether you’re playing games, sharing some laughs, or enjoying a few drinks, the key is to meet up regularly with your four closest friends. Dunbar says it’s all about keeping those bonds strong.

And it turns out, keeping those friendships alive is super important. Guys who stick with their close friends are less likely to feel down from financial stress or work worries.

They recover from sickness faster, have better immune systems, and even tend to be more generous. Plus, socializing releases endorphins, which helps with anxiety and boosts overall happiness.

But here’s the catch: a lot of guys aren’t getting enough social time.

The study found that 40% of men only manage one guys' night a week, which isn’t ideal. While texting and social media are great for staying connected, Dunbar insists that hanging out in person is what really strengthens those friendships.

So if you’re having trouble convincing your significant other to let you have a night out, this study could be your secret weapon.

It’s not just about having fun. It's key to staying happy and healthy. Just look at Dustin Dollin; he’s still going strong with the whole "meet up with the homies." Next time someone questions your plans for Friday night, just tell them, "There's a study and Dollin is the last of the Piss Drunx."
