Legendary skateboarder Danny Way recently took to social media to explain why he opted for surgeries without anesthesia, rebelling against the norm of pain management in medical procedures.

Way emphasized his desire to be actively involved in the decision-making process. Despite undergoing a staggering 28 orthopedic surgeries, Way has chosen to forgo both anesthesia and opioid pain medication, relying solely on the natural supplement Kratom, specifically from his company Element 115 Botanicals.

The former DC co-owner shared his unique perspective on surgery, stating that he prefers to be fully engaged in what's happening. "I like to be aware of what's happening to my body, to have a say in the decisions being made," Way explained. This hands-on approach reflects his gnarly attitude in the mega ramp and the operating room.
