Red Bull top-seeded professional skateboarder and Philippine Olympian Margielyn Arda Didal is unstoppable and received another victory at the Exposure Skate event, beating transgender skateboarder Ricci Tres to place in 3rd.
Exposure Skate faced backlash for making trans skaters compete with women, but according to their bio, they empower women, trans, and non-binary individuals through skateboarding.
However, another competitive girl skater Taylormay Silverman is not having it and called out Exposure Skate.
"Exposure Skate setting a terrible example by allowing and encouraging males to compete in a contest that was supposedly created to empower women," Silverman said.
Ricci Tres, a transgender woman who beat a thirteen-year-old, placed third, winning a $2,000 cash prize in the current skateboarding competition.
The vast majority of the skateboarders congratulate Didal for winning the championship. Hence, some are voicing their opinions in the skateboard world that transgender women should have their own category since the LGBTQIA+ community in skateboarding is now growing.
