Sk8Mafia triple OG professional skateboarder and West Side Recovery Rehab founder Brandon Turner believes that skateboarding is more than just a hobby and a lifestyle.
In the new Get Lost episode in San Diego, the 42-year-old noted the importance of becoming a skateboarder. When asked about the skate scene in the city, he mentioned that it's not about the hype, but it's about your skateboard.
Turner showed his skateboard and said, "As long as you have this? You will always have a friend. Don't let anybody tell you different."
Owning a skateboard can lead to meaningful and long-lasting friendships. But how does this work? When you start skateboarding, you become part of a community.
You meet other skaters at the skatepark or on the street, and you bond over your shared passion for skateboarding while learning new tricks and having fun.
As you spend more time with these skateboarders, you start to form friendships that go beyond skate videos and the cuclture.
You learn about each other's lives, interests, and goals. You support each other through the ups and downs of life, both on and off the skateboard.
And because skateboarding is a social activity, you get to experience all of this while having fun and pushing yourself to be a better skater.
So, if you're new and want to be a skateboarder and be part of a community, consider getting a skateboard. It might just be the best decision you ever make.
