American barber, creative consultant, and fashion designer Ibn Jasper teamed up with Diamond boss Nicky Diamonds to bring Kanye "Ye" West’s Yeezus Skateboards to life.

The collaboration combined years of experience, industry knowledge, and a shared love for skateboarding culture.

Ibn shared the story of how it all came together:

“@ye assigned me, Heron & Virg to run the brand. I was also working with @nickydiamonds at the time and @kelly_mustapha was the product manager. She left Diamond and got hired at the company that makes all of the music industry merchandise. She called me and said the company gave her this project as her 1st assignment. It was perfect because we had already worked together for a few years and she knew ALL of the skate manufacturers. Nick also agreed to produce all the bolts and bearings so people could get a full Yeezus complete skateboard that you could actually skate for real … 💀 🛹 And @jerrylorenzo @weslanglovesyou and

@joe_r_perez came up with the visual identity and Rock vibe for the album merchandise”

The Yeezus Skateboard project originally started back in 2014 as its own standalone concept. The plan was to create a complete skateboard line that included everything from decks and trucks to accessories and curb wax.

The designs were fully developed, and sample products were made, but ultimately the brand never officially launched.

Even though it didn’t move forward at the time, the foundation laid during that period made it possible for the team to hit the ground running when the project resurfaced.

With Kelly handling the product side, Nick producing the hardware, and the creative team shaping the visuals, the Yeezus Skateboard became more than just merchandise.

For Ibn, Nicky, and the rest of the team, it wasn’t just about making a product, it was about creating something that felt authentic and connected to the culture.

Who knows, maybe one day Ye will change his mind and decide to continue the Yeezus Skateboards brand, giving fans the chance to see the project grow even further.
