Singaporean grindcore band Wormrot is facing some big changes as their longtime drummer Vijesh Ghariwala has left the group.
This decision, announced by founding guitarist Nurrasyid "Rasyid" Juraimi, means that Juraimi is now the only full-time member left in the band.
In a statement about the departure, Juraimi said that he and Ghariwala both agreed to part ways. This comes after the band's founding vocalist Arif Suhaimi left in 2022, showing that Wormrot is going through a period of change. "Vijesh and I decided to split up after thinking about it a lot and respecting each other's decisions," said Juraimi in his statement.
"We're thankful for the time we've spent together and we're looking forward to new opportunities on our own. I want to thank Vijesh for his years of hard work and everyone who has supported us. I'm going to keep building Wormrot up from scratch." Ghariwala's departure, known for his great drumming, leaves Wormrot's future uncertain but ready for a new chapter under Juraimi's leadership. Fans and supporters of the band are eagerly watching as Wormrot goes through this new phase.
