As skateboarding continues to gain popularity, with social media platforms like YouTube providing a platform for skaters to showcase their skills and build their communities, Red Bull recently delved into the world of YouTube skaters to uncover what it takes to be considered a pro skateboarder.

Several YouTube skaters shared their insights and spilled the beans on what they believe makes someone a professional skateboarder. From their experiences and observations, a few key themes emerged.

According to YouTube skaters such as Chris Chann, Spencer Barton, and the rest of the content creators, a pro skateboarder possesses exceptional technical skills, including the ability to perform advanced tricks with style and consistency. Achieving such mastery takes years of practice, perseverance, and a deep passion for skateboarding.

However, some emphasized that being a pro skateboarder is not solely about tricks and technical abilities. It's also about creativity and individuality. Their distinct creative flair sets them apart from other skaters and captivates audiences.

YouTube skaters believe that pro skateboarders are skilled individuals, influencers, and ambassadors for the skateboarding community.

They use their platforms to inspire and motivate others, promote inclusivity and diversity within the skateboarding culture, and give back to the community that has supported them.

Although the core skateboarding community will cast them aside for being a YouTuber, they still advocate that skating and not caring about what people say is the way to go than trying to fit in with a crowd that are trash talkers.
