Weckingball is back and he’s throwing shade at the skateboard world!
After taking a break, he’s returned with a loud message that skateboarding has lost its soul. In his latest YouTube video, he took aim at how everything’s turned corporate, calling out brands, contests, and skaters trying to be rockstars.
“Posers, go away,” he declared, making it obvious he’s done with those trying to cash in on the culture without putting in the effort.
And he didn’t hold back, either, saying, “We sold ourselves out for a box of shoes.” He believes the skate world let companies come in, throw money around, and dilute what it’s really about.
One of his biggest beefs? The Olympics. Weckingball isn't a fan of skateboarding being treated like some formal competition and thinks most skaters didn’t sign up for that.
He reminded everyone that skating was never about that or making it all neat for TV. It was always about sending it down crazy spots, getting banged up, and doing it all for the love of skating. Not for a paycheck.
Weckingball has always been outspoken, and whether you’re on his side or not, his words definitely make you think.
Some fans love what he’s saying, while others feel he’s just reminiscing about the past. But no doubt, he’s got people chatting.
In a time where skating is booming, Weckingball is here to remind everyone what made it real in the first place.
